        Founding Principles

Established in the early 20th century, Izaak Walton Lodge was built upon the foundational principles of brotherhood, charity, and integrity. Our lodge serves as a beacon of light, guiding its members in personal development and community service. With a commitment to uphold the values of Freemasonry, we honour the legacy of those who came before us. Through our engaging programs and fellowship, we strive to cultivate a welcoming environment where members can forge lasting friendships and contribute meaningfully to society. Together, we embody the spirit of Freemasonry, inspiring future generations to uphold the ideals of our noble order. Although named in honour of the author of “The Compleat Angler”, the Izaak Walton Lodge is not as old as the renowned author. However, since it was established in 1921, the Lodge has grown to become one of the largest in Staffordshire with almost 80 members.

        Oak Tree Farm Project

During his year in the chair of his Lodge, the Worshipful Master nominates one or more charities which he’d like to support - raising funds so that they survive and prosper and deliver services and experiences to those less well served by local authorities. The 2023/24 Worshipful Master, Andrew Collier's major support went to Oak Tree Farm, a project founded over 30 years ago which provides training and supported occupation for adults with learning disabilities, in a rural environment.

The Project provides opportunity, support and encouragement for people to learn new skills and to improve their existing ones, paving the way into sheltered employment for those people for whom this is appropriate, whilst giving purposeful occupation to others. This commitment to community service not only enhances the lives of individuals at Oak Tree Farm but also fosters a culture of inclusion and understanding within our society. By engaging in such charitable endeavors, the Izaak Walton Lodge exemplifies the true spirit of Freemasonry, demonstrating that compassion and support can create lasting positive change in the lives of those we serve.
